areas of love that I will never ever have, that people
will love him, and they won't love me. He doesn't

abandon me. He will not pick up his phone if I call
and he hacks it so that I can't leave a message
either. I know that everybody has problems, but I
don't care. I still feel poor and pitiful compared to
his beautiful self. It's a feeling that everybody
else has everything that you ever wanted... warmth,
love, and friends who know them, love them, and care
about them.... it's like being an unseen onlooker into
the window of a happy home, knowing that that was
never your home.
But I don't think I would care if I found a rich man
who loved me unless I felt that I really cared about
him like I care about this boy that may love me deep
down but does not value me. I can create the
semblance of some happy home ideology based on someone
else's life that I have tried to mimick, and I will
never be happy like they are because it does not come
from inside.
So, you see, I don't know if I want a man at this
point in my life. I don't want to be a dependent. I
want to build my own life, away from all of the people
who treat me so badly just because they can. I want
to build my own private nest where my little girl
(part of my personality. I don't have a daughter) and
I can live safely and happily, where nobody who has it
together can look down upon us as stupid, where nobody
can judge us.
I don't think that I want to be taken care of anymore.
For I feel like the crippled schizophrenic who spends
her days in the asylum, talking to herself. Maybe she
is taken care of, maybe the place is decorated in fine
taste, but she never knows the joys of being a
functional adult, or the freedoms of having a job of
her own, a crappy little apartment, or a car, of
falling in love, or being heartbroken with no one to
rely on but her own inner strength. You could have
everything materially and still feel empty inside.
And that's how I feel, often enough. I'm afraid that
marrying a rich husband would perpetuate the feeling
that I was a helpless little girl, valued only in her
ability to appease the sexual desires of men who like
little-girlish women.
But if you can teach me how to be more independent
than I already am, I suppose that I would be all ears.
