Here is a recipe that MAY be almost as good as the SECRET ESTHER one.
COCONUT HAYSTACKS YOU CAN ROMP IN
3/4 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups coconut, shredded
1. In heavy 2 quart saucepan cook and stir over low heat the milk, sugar and corn syrup until the sugar dissolves.
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often, until candy reaches soft ball stage. Remove from heat, stir in the coconut and mix well.
3. Shape into cones about 1 1/2 inches high.
4. Place on waxed paper to cool.
MAYBE divide the mix into three and add food colour pink, green and blue. OR dip them in melted chocolate and let them set
SWEET TV CRUNCHIES for TV watching at night. 9 cups oven-toasted corn cereal squares 4 cups popped popcorn 1 1/2 cups dry-roasted peanuts, envelope of sesame seeds, dried shredded coconut, doesn't have to be sugary kind. Soak a cup almonds l hr, skin em peel em, dry them out then toast and, chop. Also 1 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon baking soda OPTIONAL: 1 2/3 cups NESTLE TOLL HOUSE butterscotch or chocolate Morsels -- (10-oz. Pkg.) Preheat oven to 250? F. Grease large roasting pan. Mix cereal, popped popcorn almonds, shredded coconut, peanuts and sesame in large bowl. Pour into prepared Pan. Combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in medium, heavy-duty saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil, without Stirring, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla extract and Baking soda. Pour evenly over cereal mixture; stir to coat evenly. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely in pan, Stirring frequently to break apart mixture. Stir in morsels Store in airtight container.
