BRAVERY 101
I'm Brave. Aren't I? I think I am.
Well, sometimes I'm not...Girl, It's time to let your bravest self out of the cave. All over the world, an Arab Spring was happening. It was the planet of boldness and 'the new' ---URANUS --- which went into the sign of the warrior, ARIES where it stayed for 8 years solid. It was the time to dump the hibernating, fattening but quite moldy comfort zone and abandon that deep SLEEP which religious mythology has encased you in.
For the last 8 years, you have felt that accepting the SYSTEM and its BAD TREATMENT was NOT OK. You joined OCCUPY, you picketed, Demonstrated, fought the system on almost every FRONT. Salaries, Harassment, Education. NO LONGER did you politely surf the wave the way it was going. The SYSTEM gave you high rents, education costs and joblessness. Life in America became a putrid, dank cave and you didn't just do nothing while you stayed in it! YOU FOUGHT. You sidestepped that programmed, spiritual fakery called PRAYER...or BEGGING GOD to stay in contact with you and protect you, and make a LIST for yourself of your DRUTHERS. What you'd RATHER happened. Dream Cinerama Technicolor.No, you sought to get government to make new, better laws. To give you a free education. You saw that kids who just ACCEPT how the GALACTIC MASTERS HAND IT TO YOU and THINK that they're safe actually fail to organize and see to their safety or anybody ELSE's or do any real, competent BATTLE.
Religion turns everyone who depends on it into either an automaton or a lazy dependent baby sucking its thumb while doing a really ugly "I'm a saint, I'm entitled and you're not" performance, especially to church outsiders.Another thing they do is PRAY TO GOD and imagine HE will give them INSTANT STARDOM or LOVE or MONEY .. and make no effort to get anything on their own.
Eating a steady diet of religion may just turn us into the MARLBORO MAN -- All poster, no reality. Manly- seeming but it's just image. Sure, you can convince yourself that you can grab a spider and eat it in one bite but reality says otherwise. Science says otherwise. YOU really aren't Harry Houdini and if you grab spiders something will get bit! That's reality.And grabbing at a man turns HIM INTO a potential SPIDER. So be friends, but that's ALL. BRAVE is DISCIPLINED, CONTROLLED, NOT SEEKING ANYTHING FROM A GUY EVER.
Pity the poor soul whose Mom and Dad instructed him to pray. They have hypnotically convinced themselves of automatic safety. They think they can walk off cliffs like Indiana Jones, walk on water like Jesus, go to World War III with a gun and save the world but it's a delusion. Fake as paint. And underneath it, the tacky brick can no longer breathe, it is so covered with fake blush.
I am the Way. Follow the Way. Don't whine and snivel for me
to CARRY YOU. Don't suck up to me or pray to me, BECOME ME!We are not really the brave manly soul we pretend that God's mojo gives us, No, we're just some sucker who was grabbing at seaweed while drowning. WHERE IS the REAL life support system? In fits of ardent, fearful PRAYER? Or in LIFE-skills and organization? No, it's IN AFFIRMING THAT YOU ARE GOD!
Cowards pray that God will help them. Realists say "I am God, I must do God's work on this earth" and they just do the work and that is BRAVERY! Practice that kind of no-praying bravery for a few days as a test of the validity of the system. Be heroic. Step in. Mirror people with polite accuracy. Stop the pretense of waiting for God to give you your desires. Show real Faith. Go through "prayer dependency"... go thorugh "faith withdrawl" and you will find yourself strong, watchful, smart and self reliant. And if that's not GODLIKE, what is?
Oh, you may find yoursel praying a few dozen times a day over little things but just stop yourself as it's dumb, just a valium for the 'attached' to outcome, jittery mind! PRAYING is pretending to be the special beloved of God. WHEN WE BELIEVE DADDY GOD IS GOING TO ANSWER our PRAYERS, true, we ARE slightly tranquilized.
I'll admit mantra and prayer efficiently quiet the mind for a while but who wants to be tranquilized? There's the danger that as we zone off we may succumb to FAILING to do anything else except our pat little prayer!
Our spiritual chore for this decade in front of us, while we have URANUS in BRAVE "tread new ground fearlessly" SIGN of the RAM...ARIES -- is to GET BRAVE WITHOUT BIG DADDY. Find OUR COMFORT LEVEL as armed warriors who HEAD OUT INTO THE WILD where we are both scout, soldier, explorer, indian Chief treading where no man has gone before. Perhaps on our sales route. Bravery is not ingrained, not genetic even if your dad was a Marine. Bravery is an acquired muscle. It isn't born strong. WE PRACTICE bravery and GET IT THE WAY YOU GET TIGHT ABS. Repetitions.
Now, here's the thing. To be REALLY brave ya gotta give up jungle jive juice. NO LONGER can you RELY ON or call on Daddy GOD all the time and expect him to serve you. 17,000 Buddhists and Confuscians in JAPAN prayed daily, yet they all failed to move on the Tsunami alarm and got washed away. Six million Jews and a Million gypsies prayed. Washed away. There's this rumor praying gets you closer to God and Heaven and nobody prayed harder than these Jews and GYPSIES. Just didn't work.
I'd rather live wary than die smiling. YOU are the GOD in charge of your safety. Or your child's or your pet's. You hear the wagons coming to burn Jews, you grab a boat. You hear the tsunami alarm, you grab the kids, the dog, jump in a car you had gassed up. You are the only GOD in your universe and it's YOU who must think 'children/ safety/ danger this or that these tires are showing tread.
As for effort and work. PRAYERFUL people think they'll always have food on the table. They don't need to do much in the way of special effort. THEY DREAM. Millions of 'em prayed and lost their HOMES recently. To banks, not tsunamis.
So for safety? Try bravery. Get into that mysterious magnetic alignment with the universal force, some 'always-moving-forward ' force of evolution. Serve the planet's awakening from the deep sleep of witchdoctors and medicine men and replace it with work that furthers all people becoming wise, reliable, sane. instead of dependent, ignorant, mistake-making & suffering.
RELYING on religion to do any clarity and safety is complete INSANITY. It's like TAKING VALIUM and it leaves you stoned & unsafe, dependent on images dancing thru your head like sugarplums and that's when you forget to put the backup battery system for the spent fuel rod pool in the NEW DESIGN reactor and blow everybody to tarnation. Scientists at General Electric, men who went to church and depended on GOD, spaced out on that one! God did not step in and save 18,000 innocent people. G.E. didn't give us the TSUNAMI, that was Geophysics, another pet name for "God" but G.E. gave us the radioactivity to kill ten times 18,000.
Vow to be competent, vow to be brave. don't jibber jabber to God all the time! Face the void WITHOUT the pacificer in your mouth. Abandon the phony teat of the Holy GHOST and you'll develop muscle that would make Jesus proud. A journalist asked a priest if Kid O'Malley doing the sign of the cross before a fight helped the fighter win. The priest responded 'only works if you can already FIGHT.'
Join Occupy. Find student pro-active groups. Practice fighting, living with awareness, in present time, no praying allowed. You'll TREMBLE at first but HANDLE THE WORK of educating, banishing sorrow, hunger, grief, stupidity. Do it with diligence instead of this DRUG for weak nerves, RELIGIOUS FAITH! HOPE.
I know a lot of smart people who sit and do mantra to quiet their overactive brains then pray for hours to connect with the MOTHER SHIP. Time wasted. They do NOT forward the work, they just sit around ON THEIR BUMS. Then they feel entitled. They get up, EAT CHIPS, SPEND THEIR DADDY'S MONEY and occasionally ask God for more favors AS IF THEY WORE A NIMBUS of perfect entitlement. If there were a God, he'd NOT have saved a one of 'em from a TSUNAMI. There is no special prayer club, no roped off membership club, no list of the favored that you are on. Pray and you're outta luck. But forward the action of humanity on earth, you may have angels overhead.
