I wrote my pal the genius tekkie: Hey Curly, for years I've been told the best ever text editor (PFE) was deader than a Texas Whorehouse. Its owner a lab-confined Englishman at Lancaster Univ in UK had seen the non-profit light at the end of the tunnel as a burnt out bulb and closed up shop. And it was an amazing text editor!

Today it struck me that probably Some of PFE's most ardent fans had mirrored the Grand Dame of TEXT EDITORS and done mirror sites.  I googled, and  pfe0602i.zip only oppened up pharm giant PFIZER's stock records.

At that time MY PC was running WIN 98, was 20 yrs old and I can't surf or zip the new web geared for MICROSOFT'S WIN 7 of 10. But I was an ardent fan of this sweetheart program. So I ask Curly, go see if PFE is alive and  waiting there as curvacious as ever. And Curly Is she downloadable? can Lazarus rise from the tomb? what say you? Or maybe as Hemingway said of himself,  RUMORS OF my DEATH were GREATLY EXAGGERATED.

Microsoft has changed the nature of DOS over the years & now will probably not run in XP or later. Below are my initial search results.
