FAMILY HISTORIES and ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS that set off THE REVOLUTIONARY PERSONALITY

The Evil Concentration Camp doctor had  traced the odd set of early childhood factors that made Hitler perverse & destructive and duplicated the stress factors on a genetically exactly similar group of cloned infants.  Mengele was trying to build a BAD APPLE, but what factors cause a good apple to leap out of a petrie dish? Maybe there is some way to trigger revolution and activism in the young. Slap 'em around or teach them to light firecrackers under the scoutmaster's chair. Or some shiatsu points we must PUSH to encourage young people to question unjust practices and picket or rebel, and act against the leaders who make life on the planet miserable for all?

These ponderings have long been of interest to social activists because if we could just find out what needs to be touched off in an effective activst's life history, we could create progressives in a Petri dish, create our mobs, our soldiers and win the war against Oligarchs and the Pols they rode in on. Or at least, review histories and hand-select our teams instead of just holding endless meetings, jawing and waiting for someone to hear the calling, put his hand up and volunteer. We need LENINS whose older brothers were hung! Though many times it was a son with a cruel, dominating father figure whom he resented. He learned to hate the authorities. That was a more loutish and dangerous guy in a revolution.

Another cause of a good revolutionary is that he perceives that the government has turned his life to death. "Those who have nothing to live for, find causes to die for." That is the crib of the Muslim terrorist today.

There are constants in the ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS that turn citizens into foaming mobs: homelessness, joblessness, starvation with children dying of both hunger and disease. Also very cold weather and huts with no heat except livestock. That's a good one. But there are revolutions in tropical countries, so what is the constant?

Let us study the revolutionary movement that shook France between 1787 and 1799 reached its first climax there in 1789. Hence the conventional term “Revolution of 1789,” denoting the end of the ancien régime in France and serving also to distinguish that event from the later French revolutions of 1830 and the 'barricades of 1848 (Les Miserables).

Historians disagree on the causes of the French Revolution but the following reasons are commonly listed:
(1) the increasingly prosperous elite of wealthy commoners—merchants, manufacturers, and professionals, often called the bourgeoisie—produced by the 18th century's economic growth and which resented its exclusion from political power and positions of honour; (2) the peasants were acutely aware of their situation and were less and less willing to support the anachronistic and burdensome feudal system; (3) TUTORS, i.e. the philosophes, who advocated social and political reform, had been read more widely in France than anywhere else; (4) French participation in the American Revolution had driven the government to the brink of bankruptcy and the King was doing what our gov is doing, pulling any giveouts to the populace; and (5) a coincidence of bad weather, crop failures in much of the country in 1788, coming on top of a long period of economic difficulties, and this made the population particularly restless shooting food prices through the roof. So that everyone was watching their children slowly starve.

Now those are the environmental stress factors that caused ordinary lower class people to risk death to unseat the oligarchs whom they blamed ---not quite the same as influences in the crib that make men susceptible to FATHER-HATING and REVOLUTION. There is a particular breed who will not only hate the slavedriver but spot the warp in the system,  sense the presence of remote and unseen oligarchs who hire the slavedriver foreman and who profit off the process. We need men and women who feel the whip and like Spartacus, want to do something about it. Not couch potatoes who hear the waterfall up ahead and put wax in their ears, choosing to live on the RIVER DENIAL. But writers, bloggers, thinkers, post-ers.
