I was just reading ONLINE that some Nigerian hackers  got so good they actually penetrated a Kenyan SERVER, Safariland, the number one SERVER or ISP in the country! That means these crooks could read everything  all SUBSCRIBERS had in their MAIL BOXES including passwords so maybe they could even get into the data files on those client's PCs. They certainly could get all email unless that SERVER, like my EARTHLINK, puts the 'already downloaded and read' mail in your PC and disappeared it from their SERVER. AOL doesn't. They used to leave all your mail right in their own HARD DRIVES making it a hair away from being fine, free reading at a PUBLIC LIBRARY!

If an interloper can get SOME or ALL of your email (which it can if server KEEPS the email there permanently, like AOL), and virtually walk into your computer and steal your LIFE, your BUSINESS, your private thoughts, we need to create a firewall. If some NIGERIAN hacker has such skills, it's possible that the U.S intelligence services or that of Brit government has  the same skills and technology and can do all that to any  noisy, dangerous (to them, at least,) political activist. What if these spooks can see where you're eating lunch today, with whom and can be there at the cafe as you arrive to listen to your conversation with those convergence microphones from 'THE CONVERSATION'. Remember that movie? RENT IT! Gene Hackman. Then, rent ENEMY OF THE STATE" with Wil Smith. And that Sandra Bullock film "THE NET" a doozie!

OBVIOUSLY  we have to lock up our PCS! We gotta have some sharp technology. A tekkie pal who goes by the monniker JAKMATT, when queried about hacking and the hackers who do it, said:  "IF YOU THINK your activism has THE CIA leaning in on your keyboard, staring at you thru your PC, things you can do. Change the password. Get a good VIRUS detector. Get ZONE ALARM.  But here's the BIG FIX: If you have Windows and USB plug in capability consider the following: The cost for U3 smart drive 2 gigs of extra storage is about $35.
