I make my own patchouli soap and PERFUME
like Ancient Egypt. AM I THE BOMB?One can make one's own foaming bath bombs and soaps. Read what I found online. "For the soap on my three sinks, I buy the liquid foaming soap at the store. You can buy a large bottle of refill soap, any brand, but I buy Softsoap. When you refill the foaming soap dispensers, it only takes about a tablespoon of the refill soap, fill the rest of the dispenser with water and you have a whole bottle of handsoap. It only takes a wee amount of soap mixed with water or if you add too much it wont come out foamy. A refill bottle of soap will last forever almost. I have 2- bathrooms and a kitchen sink where the hand soaps get grotty looking fast so instead, I have been using the same refill bottle for months and it is only 1/3 from the top. This refill will probably last me years." Poster's NOTE. I find cutting the stuff in HALF makes it weak. I can't believe author cuts it into 1/20th!!!
A RECIPE for Fizzing Bath Oil Balls (makes about 25 pieces) A great and cheap Xmas gift
1/4 cup baking soda 2 tablespoons citric acid or ascorbic acid (powdered vit C very cheap at Wal-Mart)
1 tablespoon borax powder (for softening) 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for binding) 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil (which you should always have in the fridge, put a few tbspoons in your cream or in a small bottle alone, for skin. Coconut is another good skin oil.) 1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil (preservative) 1/4 teaspoon fragrance or essential oil.* Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and stir until well blended. Drizzle in almond oil and stir until mixture is moistened. Add vit E oil and fragrance and stir until well mixed. Take teaspoon sized globs of mixture and form into ball shapes with fingers. (Mixture will be VERY crumbly and fragile, so do the best you can) Place the balls on a sheet of waxed paper and leave alone for 2-3 hours. After 2-3 hours, gently reshape the balls. Let the balls air-dry and harden for 10 days. Store balls in a closed container to protect from moisture. To use, drop a ball into bath water. Enjoy!Citric acid would be both better & cheaper than ascorbic acid. You might have to mill the acids, as well as the borax, down to a fine powder first.

Bath Bombs 2 parts baking soda 1 part ascorbic or citric acid powder 1 part cornstarch Combine ingredients using a food processor if possible, can add colors and EO's. Be sure it's EO's and use a drop at a time as they have a strong scent. The trick is to bind the ingredients together with a little melted cocoa butter and slam them in a mould then into the freezer." A mold for how long?? Well, giving it a try will tell you, I guess.
ESSENTIAL OILS * are found at hippie groceries and bookshops. WAAAY COSTLY like 6$ for a tiny flacon. Or online, but then you have to pay shipping in addition. SO HEY, MAKE THEM YOURSELF! If I were to seek ingredients from my garden, there's be madegascar jasmine flowers, citrus flowers, rosemary, rose petals, those are my only truly fragrant things. Oh and my lemon peels. That would be a really nice mix.
