$100 thousand dollars for COLLEGE, & I can't get a job!
WILD GOOSE CHASE (EDUCATIONAL) AT PACE COLLEGE

They told me I could get a job teaching after their hundred thousand
dollar classes. A LOTTA GOOSE POOP!

SUICIDAL TRADE SCHOOL GRAD WROTE THIS:

"AMERICA. I have been SCREWED out of  a year of my life and CHARGED up the wazoo for my suffering. I have been rooked by a very prestigious TRADE SCHOOL, a very COSTLY job training "University". They assured me I could be a teacher after ONE YEAR of their very costly classes. THEY LIED like a rug. I HANDED them my money but there were no jobs for those who graduate from this Trade School. GAWD, I feel for all  those students in horrific debt, lied to about what their degree would get them. A LIFETIME of paying off the student loan! No Kings X or offsies for them! The SHYLOCKS got my BLOOD and gave me NOTHING! Who was this masked man? The villain was  the famed Pace University  and they took one year out of my life. It was also a nightmare experience. THEY ARE DISHONEST, cruel and hypocritical (see my counselor's sweet as sugar letter below.)

The reality that PACE doesn't tell you is this: what can a graduate possibly do to get a teaching position in NYC based on what is going on with the teacher's union and the city? Probably 'do' Mayor Giuliani. Sure, refer me.

I'd love to hear from any school with a full-time teaching position for English Language Arts grades 7-12. However, schools have to hire from a pool of teachers in the reserves. Laid off teachers, basically. They must also use those teachers for any opportunity to sub teach.

My experience is with English as a Second Language, and that is what I was pursuing at Pace. Then Pace stopped offering that track, and I switched to ESL. No problem, I could get both. I fought for a year and a half with the School of Education to get to where I could get both.

Now I am told that was not told to me and I need to apply for ESL
certification all on my own, through the state, and the $100 fee I paid
to Pace was only for ELA, These guys gave me the run around!

I also did not follow up with my appointment in your office. I have
already had my resume laughed at there, thanks. I had every job since
1988 on it, trying to get it all on there, even if in tiny font, because in
the 80's and 90s I worked for two US Congressmen. I thought that might
be important to anyone hiring. Nope, that was deemed ridiculous because
it was so long ago. I find that to be bad advice. (The woman advising me
told me she has the exact same degree that I have and found it just as
worthless. Though I explained clearly that I wanted to know what jobs I
could get with this Masters in Ed, outside of schools, she was not
encouraging to me about seeking jobs outside the school system. She
pointed out that her job at Pace Careers is a one of a kind, and that I
should just look at schools. I didn't tell her how condescending that
was because she was 8 months pregnant at the time. But yeah, you and
your one of a kind job, you're RUDE.) So I am to re-write my resume
looking like a new college graduate, so it looks like I am 24 on paper?
Age discrimination much? To many, experience DOES matter. So I think
your center gives bad advice. And the School of Ed? Liars or
incompetent. Bumbling losers that the state says send the "worst"
packets they get in Albany. Incomplete, lost papers, not on time, human
error more than half the time. Certification should happen directly from
the students to the state. Pace School of Ed is just another step for
human error. Plus it costs exactly TWICE as much! I would NEVER
recommend to ANYONE that they go to Pace. Not the classes, not any of
the "support" offices. If you have any questions or need exact names of
the horrors I've met - oh what is that Dean Of Student Affairs name? I
RECORDED our conversation, she is hideous and should be fired. Hideous
that Pace gave so many students bedbugs, too."

P.S> DONALD TRUMP did the same to the kids at TRUMP U. Google that one.

As the last insult --The VP in charge of students wrote me a letter today:

DEAR CARLOS: I hope that all is well. I’m writing to follow up on an earlier email to
touch base and see how things have been going since graduation. Have you
found a full-time position or started a graduate program? If so, please
reply quickly to this email and let me know 3 simple things: Where, Your
Title, and Start Date. I can be reached at (should I put that in?)

If you are still looking for a full-time position, please let me know if
there is anything I can do to help. I would be happy to refer you to
some job search tools, review your resume, or answer any other
questions. Or just an ear to listen if that’s what you need.

Either way, please please please get back to me. Your response is so
very helpful in allowing us to know what our graduates are up to. What
you share is confidential and is simply aggregated for statistical
purposes, with no identifying information. Career Counselor's name. Phone number, email.

And this inscrutable entry: Open Office Hours: (ALMOST NEVER) Monday/Wednesday: 11am-12pm, Tuesday/Thursday: 3pm-4pm, Friday: 10am-11am

AN HOUR A DAY to tend to their suicidal ex clients? These people are reprehensible. Plus when you go there's got to be a line of a hundred people!
