GENERAL RELIEF, WELFARE FOR NON-PARENTS.A pal wrote me. " I applied for general relief. They gave me a form.
The first question asks if there is a parent or relative of a child in the home.
If the answer is no, then you're toast.-- NOT eligible. If there are no
children in the home then that applicant is not considered to be a
family and is NOT eligible. That form is for my state, Connecticut, but I'm
assuming that the eligibility requirements arewe similar for all states
since it's a federally-funded program.See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Assistance
The GOOD NEWS: All over nation, only people with a dependent child (or more) in their
homes can get welfare, known now as TANF, not AFDC. THE BAD NEWS: The "T"
stands for TEMPORARY. So if your children continue to LIVE.... tch tch.If all of the above is true, and not a wiki rumo, then the social safety net in this country is not
nearly as good as we thought. It also seems to explain a lot-- like why
there are so many homeless people in this country. I've often wondered
how there could be homeless people if there is such a thing as
welfare, and now I think I might have the answer. The Gov doesn't care. They
created the CLINTON BACK OFF on AFDC knowing the Great Recession was
coming. They have probably created the infamous FEMA CAMPS for the jobless,
homeless that will soon congest the cities. So learn the rules of General Assistance
and use them if you are ever in this condition. Learn where you are allowed to live.
And be ready for the day that they collect EVERYBODY on Public Assistance to
carry you to the camps. Have your acre 1 gastank from city and your straw bale
house up and ready and your orchard PLANTED. And your irrigation in.Unfortunately,General Relief might not be available in every state.. In 1996, due to
Clinton's "welfare reform," general relief was handed over to the states to deal
with. OPTIONAL! As a result, some states don't even have it, and in some other
states it is only available in some counties (typically those in urban
areas). So it seems that the feds handed the "ball" over to the
states, and a bunch of them "dropped the ball" (probably intentionally). It could
be that CLINTON's admin saw the gigantic RECESSION coming.<==BACK TO GETTING THE HELP WHEN YOU'RE POOR, AN INDEX
