Beaners and Beancounters In 1994, the US government, led by the Republicrats and their Newtwits, but with CLINTON going along, decided to initiate their spending freeze with a frozen heart that would put an ice cream machine to shame. Clinton ‘reformed’ Welfare, so that the DPSS (note that double S?) could get a little leverage on the proliferating ‘racial inferiors’. The new laws enabled DPSS storm troopers to force AFDC mothers to clean freeways for their checks. The amount they got would end up being less than minimum wage for burger flippers. This enabled cities everywhere to fire their costly clean-up crews of strong men with trucks and put pregnant women and women who had latch key kids at home, behind that trash pick up details.

Pretty soon it's gonna be wall to wall Mejico. Their economy
is coming down to meet ours and ours is goin' up. Seems fair
to me. Maybe we can hire one of their daughters to clean OUR
house. Maybe they learn to do seatcovers for cars, eh?

Next, Congress put a cap on how many years those fecund dark-skinned ladies could get public aid, TWO! TWO YEARS, that's one toddler and then the other five are latch key kids who starve and set fire to the house while she’s gone as her 8$ an hour maid salary cannot go for daycare, and the food is what she can scrape off the rich family's plates and put in her purse.  I was one of those welfare mothers with four kids that would be raised on AFDC back in the pre-Clinton days when we could get welfare but now the AFDC mother will be booted out of a super market or health clinic after 5 years no matter how many infants were crawling on her carpet without food.

These mothers weren’t all dark-skinned, much more than half are white but why distinguish? ALL those children of any color would have grown up to be workers, gaining wealth for our country with their productivity, IF, they had food, IF they had education and if they were warm enough and healthy enough to sit in a schoolroom 6 hrs a day. Not starving, in other words. Not ill from the lack of heating in the home. Not left to fend for themselves all day with a TV as babysitter.

But those laws get passed by men who are sound asleep in cushy jobs in Washington, men who don’t know the facts and who have the usual racist buttons. They just have paranoia. These poor ladies will keep breeding if we feed them, so let's not feed them.

Wrapping themselves in the flag, Newtwit Nazis told Congress that illegal aliens have broken a law (in coming here) and don’t deserve welfare so they can damn well leave their infants on church doorsteps, Uncle Sam ain’t takin’ are of them! 

In California, Newtwits put Prop l87 on the lawbooks, a beauty of a law which further said that illegal aliens don’t deserve medical care to keep them from spreading that plague of TB which is already endemic in California since the FDA started letting infected meat be sold. (No more tuberculosis meat testing.)

Prop 187 said no food stamps for these illegal aliens, so they have been foodless for essentially 8 years now. ANYONE in that condition would get violent and crazy if they weren’t so already. No school for their children, so they’ll stay stupid. Never enter the tax base. Nada. Adios. 

Well, they’re here, they’re not leaving, but they are suffering. Except that a District Judge ruled it unconstitutional right off the bat, so nobody has implemented that law yet but all wetback parents keep kids at home, afraid that their children's addresses will be used to track back to the parents, round them up and send them back to Guatemala.

Simultaneously in Florida, a zealous, vigilante citizen who broke a few laws when he burned down a crack house went scot free. This was discussed by Bill Maher on the Politically Incorrect show, where he cornered Barbara Coe, the battle axe hag who led the fight to pass 187 in California. Babs said she felt the vigilante did the right thing. Vigilante justice was fine by her, as long it was against a drug dealer. 

Twisted sister. Where’s it all gonna end? In “Trabajo hace libertad” signs going up in those concentration camps where we incarcerate the mojado families? In a little bean-shaped, iron-on badge that Latin workers will wear on their sleeves as they run from La Migra at bus stops on Pico? (and hey, wasn’t Pio Pico a beaner and didn’t we steal this state from him when he was the last Mexican governor and didn’t Richard Chamberlin (playing John Fremont ) force Pico to sign the Golden State over to us at gunpoint? My great great grandmother was a negress muleskinner back then. Her parents were escaped slaves from South America, so total wetbacks! She'd come in as a wetback. Her son was PIO PICO. Then part of the family had come up from Guaymas, Mexicans in the pre-ALAMO period. Wetbacks. But hey, weren't the PILGRIMS the ultimate wetbacks?

Didn’t this continent belong to the Indian for the last 14,000 years? White guys are but an eyeblink in history, pal. How quickly we forget. 

An omen from the future: on the very night this law passed Congress 3 to 1 in favor, 3 Hispanics in Venice California took out a Brinks truck. It was a pedazo de trabajo, (a piece of work. ) Tell me these guys are lowbrows and don’t deserve a place in the food chain. 

They knew the truck came at midnight to empty ATM’s, they used machine guns to plow the guards down as they probably didn’t speak English very well and didn’t know the word for ‘freeze, drop the money’ and these three illiterates con cojones got away ---scot free with quite a few thousands of pesos. No witnesses. That’s three beaner families that won’t be living on welfare for the next I don’t know how long. No standing in long lines at Welfare while the babies moan, cry and hammer. Just wham bam, thank you BOA.

In immigration matters, the best and brightest always get away from trouble and go somewhere else that gains in the bargain. BOA and Brinks excepted. When Pharoah invented slavery, moving big rocks and pyramids, his Jewish architects got pissed and diaspora’ed to Spain. 

When the Inquisition lit bonfires, Jewish Merchants diasporaed to the middle east, learned from the Phoenicians and traded. 

The third wave of Pharoah’s scribes were the most paranoid of all. They diaspor-ed to Germany and entered the arts. The last wave were the most paranoic of all and probably the most strong of leg. They kept going—to Russia where they farmed in the countryside or pawned in the cities, prevented by law from doing much else.

Pogroms and the Czarist draft (Jews got to stay in the army for 25 years, special), pushed the nervy and fearless with strong legs to America. Every smart Semite in Eastern Europe hiked across Europe to Hamburg to boat out in steerage. 

Those who didn’t leave Europe, then, had a second chance when Hitler appeared. (my daddy's ancestors skedaddled out of Berlin in ‘33) and sailed to New York to enter comedy writing, Broadway stage and Hollywood movies making life in America fun. Part of my family got stuck in Provence for the duration of the war, hiding out from the Vichy and Nazis there. And the front part got them into NYC after the war. And my grandfather an author on Jewish music, 13 books, a former two decade conductor at Leipzig Opera, taught music, composing, directing, music history at the Hebrew University until he was in his nineties, so as an immigrant contributed a great deal to this country. 

Having seen how clever Latins are first hand when I lived 7 years in Mexico, speaking their language as well as they did--- I saw that the humblest Indian had a mind clearer than my own—and having seen in the days when my son landscaped, how they’re capable of 14 hour days of physical labor on a meal of tortillas, chiles and beans, (provoking my son to say, Mom I’ll never make it in this career unless I get a landscaping degree and then run strings of these guys ---” and having seen their superb gardening talents, stone-setting skills matching Faberge, and having tasted the culinary gifts of their senoras, I know that when a citizen of the US underground railway takes a starving beaner family under its wing, the aliens will have ample ways to repay the kindness. 

I don’t know about YOU, but I’m turning my guest house into maid’s quarters, hoping that soon my garden will ring with the happy patter of tiny huaraches.

I will do so as an homage in kind, remembering how kindly Dutch families sheltered Jews when the other Newtwit Nazis strutted their stage for their brief hour. ‘No hay mal que dura cien anos’, the beaners say. I hope that’s so in WLA.

Newspaper HEADLINE: IMMIGRANT BASHERS ARE BAD FOR BUSINESS

One of the most creative movies about Latinos to ever come out of Hollywood was the 2004 film "A Day Without a Mexican." The premise of the story was all the Mexicans in the state of California disappear, and no one knows why. While the focus in the film was the labor Latinos do and how that impacts everyone's lives, there is also another factor that is only now gaining the recognition it deserves -- real financial contributions of Latino consumers.

In light of the mean-spirited and vicious state laws being passed trying to drive out undocumented immigrants from the country, like the one this week in Arizona, other states have realized that Latino consumers buoy their state's coffers.

For example, in Idaho, Hispanic buying power grew 10 times faster than the buying power of the state's non-Hispanic residents, according to estimates from the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia.

The University of Georgia's Selig Center reported: "In 2009, Hispanics account for 9.1 percent of all U.S. buying power, up from only 6.8 percent in 2000 and from 5 percent in 1990. Due to this brisk growth, Hispanic buying power essentially pulled even with African-American buying power in 2005, and surpassed it in 2006. The estimates show that gap between the two groups' total buying power expanded in 2009 and will widen further in future years."

And a Nielsen multicultural study of buying trends had among its findings: When compared to the general population, on average Hispanic Shoppers:

- Tend to spend more on categories for babies and children.

- Tend to spend more in traditional mass merchandise and warehouse clubs.

- Tend to spend more on food consumed at home.

The Hispanic TV audience in the US is growing faster than the TV audience for the total population, showing a continued increase of Hispanic TV homes (2.3%) compared with total US TV homes (0.3%) for the 2009-2010 TV season.

The number of people ages 2 and older in Hispanic TV homes will also grow, with estimates showing a 2.4% increase to a total of 44.3 million.

Yet, this isn't even the whole story.

When undocumented immigrants are allowed to join mainstream society as full partners in this economy, there will be additional benefits:

A January 2010 study by Dr. Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda, conducted for the Immigration Policy Center and the Center for American Progress, estimates that during the first three years after legalization, the higher earning power of newly legalized workers "would generate $4.5 to $5.4 billion in additional net tax revenue."

A 2007 study by the University of Arizona's Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy concluded that "the total state tax revenue attributable to immigrant workers was an estimated $2.4 billion (about $860 million for naturalized citizens plus about $1.5 billion for non-citizens). Balanced against estimated fiscal costs of $1.4 billion (for education, health care, and law enforcement), the net 2004 fiscal impact of immigrants in Arizona was positive by about $940 million."

All in all, those people who are so quick to demand the removal of undocumented immigrants, who have lived and worked peacefully in this country, may not now understand the impact of their short-sighted paranoia but it's clear from all the research that life with less Latinos could end up costing us all more.
