THE VIKING TOOL CHEST Or, Why in the NEAR FUTURE you MAY need these ANTIQUE CARPENTER TOOLS!

When the fit hits the shan, when an electric pulse has rolled over America sending us back to Neanderthal times, when nobody can pay the outrageous amount the Department of POWER demands, you will need tools that work without electricity.

A recent WOODWORKER TV show showed us a thousand year old BOX of tools found by Norwegians, and all those tools would be recognizeable today. This box was dug up in 1936 and it was protected by an OAK TOOL BOX which would not rot. This is not the contents of that box. The real box had a bigger saw, many hammers, solid iron. An adze. THE ANCIENT VIKINGS never used saws.  SEE: http://www.regia.org/research/life/woodwork.htm

LUCKILY today we do have all kinds of non electric saws, good ones. For very big trees a HUGE HOLE is required. One carpenter stands above, the other below in hole and they use a two carpenter LONG saw.  Clamps. Things that you can buy today, very inexpensively, many at WIDOWS' GARAGE SALES or thrift shops. You can buy electrical items that way, good prices but know that you need that NON AC/DC plan old HANDY tool type too.

BBC featured these (ABOVE), NOT ACTUAL VIKING TOOLS but REPLICAS
a dozen 'slides' in color... told how no SAW marks were found on boards!
ALL had been split by hand! Start hittin' the garage sales for these suckers.
